Since you asked for some Gossip… has a feature on celebrity hookups and breakups of 2007. And guess who's on their list of hookups?

According to MSN: "Carrie Underwood and Chace Crawford made their public debut in October with a series of affectionate dinner dates in New York, a coming out that coincidentally (or not) dovetailed with the release of her latest album. So what superficial qualities attracted the wholesome country warbler to the swoopy banged "Gossip Girl" eye candy? "He's got cool hair, he's a nice height and he just has beautiful blue eyes," she told People." (EMPICS, Andrew Marks/Retna Ltd.)

I'm not a big fan of Carrie Underwood simply because I'm not a big fan of country music. And I didn't watch her on American Idol so she holds no nostalgia for me on those grounds. My opinion on Carrie's vocal talents aside, however, I'm having mixed feelings about her comments on Chace. On the one hand, I completely agree with her. The guy DOES have 'cool' hair and the most amazing blue eyes but, hello, if you're talking to the press, wouldn't you at least pretend you're not as shallow as you actually are? I don't know. Maybe that's just me.

In other Chace-related news, I read somewhere that a lot of fans are noting the similarity between Chace and Ian Somerholder, our other favorite eye-candy from Young Americans, LOST and (for those of you who watch it), Smallville. What do you think?

Didn't really think of them as looking alike before but I can see why some people might make the connection. Someone should put the two of them together in a movie. Preferably somewhere set on a beach. In the Philippines. During summer when it's scorching hot and it only makes sense to have your two lead actors do their scenes shirtless. That would be—wait for it—LEGENDARY.
